I deployed a team of designers, consultants and engineers to execute a series of online initiatives aimed at significantly increasing athenahealth's inbound lead volume. Our efforts ultimately resulted in online lead generation becoming their most successful opportunity-creation tool, increasing revenue from web leads by 672% over 2004. Check out the case study.

User Interface Assessment

A successful online merchant services company was looking to redesign their web application interface. They were conflicted about how to best prioritize their efforts, but understood a need to address site usability and the clear presentation of their offering. I was commissioned to walk through their online application interface and provide an intial user interface evaluation to help facilitate a focused redesign and development effort.

Marketing Performance Measurement System

I have designed and integrated several measurement systems that monitor, track, and report online user behavior. Recently, I architected an online marketing technology framework that deploys, tracks, and measures the success of cross-channel marketing campaigns for a specific client. With a team of software developers, we successfully built and integrated this system in 2004. Check out a diagram outlining the campaign measurement solution components.

Data Visualization / Report Design

A medical software client needed to effectively present data to physicians on the ongoing operational performance of their medical practices. I designed a report template targeting this unique audience. By using visual conventions typically found in wealth management reports, a sense of familiarity and credible affiliation was achieved while communicating the importance and timeliness of the dataset. By rethinking how performance data could be visually communicated, this time-starved and data-insensitive audience could more intuitively grasp the relevance of the information. To achieve this, I incorporated a series of visualization concepts, including thresholding, small multiples, and conditional formatting. I recruited a team to physicially construct and deploy this design as a dynamic reporting solution using the Perl template toolkit, SVG (for vector-based data presentation) and CSS / tableless layouts. Here's a mockup of my original design.
